Q: Will the MiaDonna Diamond Hybrid® test positive on a traditional jeweler’s diamond tester?

Traditional diamond testers only measure "Heat Conductivity" below is the outcome of the Raman analysis which shows the Diamond Hybrid® spiking at the same frequency as an earth mined diamond. The test is used to show the presence of the SP3 carbon bonds or diamond bonds that make up nearly 85% of the Diamond Hybrids® outer diamond layer.

Please note that traditional diamond testers do not test for the presence of diamond or the SP3 bonds themselves. This is why sometimes White Sapphires or Moissanite will test positive. After all Moissanite is heavily Silicone based which is a great conductor of heat yet posses no diamond content. A moissanite tester is now available giving jewellers the ability to perform the test with the correct results, meaning they can now identify it as moissanite and not miss identify it as just a poorly cut diamond with I/J coloring.
