Marketing & PR Internship

MiaDonna is looking for a Marketing and PR Intern to help grow our online presence and public relations efforts. The ideal applicant will have a strong knowledge of the digital media landscape and an understanding of public relations strategies. In this role, you will work side-by-side with the Communications Manager and will be responsible for identifying new opportunities for online and print coverage, contributing new ideas for social media and blog content and will lead industry-related research initiatives. Established in 2005 in Portland, Oregon, MiaDonna is a leading retailer of conflict-free lab-grown diamonds and fine bridal jewelry. MiaDonna was founded with a single objective: to offer consumers a beautiful, ethical and affordable diamond alternative that would help free innocent children oppressed by the active conflict diamond mining industry. As advocates for diamond mining communities, global societies and the Earth, we pledge to only use ethically sourced materials and sustainable practices to push for a more socially responsible diamond industry.


    • Social Media (20%)
      • Drafting and scheduling content for MiaDonna’s Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest
      • Collecting weekly performance reports and make recommendations for improvements
      • Brainstorm ideas for new campaigns and promotions
      • Respond to incoming messages and engage with followers
    • Content Development (20%)
      • Assist in planning quarterly content calendar
      • Write copy for weekly blog posts
      • Write copy for social media and sponsored blog posts
    • Public Relations (40%)
      • Compile media lists and collect media kits for prospective partners
      • Conduct public relations outreach to target media outlets
    • Industry Research (20%)
      • Stay up-to-date with industry-rated news
      • Communicate newsworthy mentions to team
      • Research industry-specific websites and publications for possible story opportunities


      • Strong interpersonal communication skills
      • Excellent research and writing skills
      • Proactive, independent worker with the desire to lead and collaborate
      • Professional demeanor, positive attitude and eager to learn
      • In-depth knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and other social channels
      • Proficient in Google Mail, Docs, Spreadsheets, and Drive
      • Experience with social media analytics including Facebook Insights and Google Analytics
      • Video editing or design experience a plus
      • Previous internship and/or work experience in a related field a plus but not required


      • 8-12 week-long program, can be extended with approval
      • 8-16 flexible hours per week
      • Must have reliable transportation to our Portland, OR office
      • Must be a junior or older
      • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
      • Must be enrolled in a College or University. Possibility to earn credits (please work directly with your program coordinator)
      • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a visa or sponsorship
